Grovetown authorities recently arrested three people on drug charges and are looking for a fourth.

Miriam Hightower, 53, and Curtis Edward Gibson, 63, both of Fifth Avenue in Grovetown, were charged Thursday with selling marijuana by the Grovetown Department of Public Safety.

Though arrested May 26, Patrick Donnell Ealy, 46, of Magnolia Drive in Grovetown, was charged with four counts of selling marijuana and a probation violation as part of the same sting, said Grovetown Department of Public Safety Director Gary Owens.

Another man, Larry Jefferson, is wanted for similar crimes.

Owens said Monday that the arrests were the result of a sting in coordination with the Columbia County Sheriff’s Office.

“Without their (sheriff’s office) help, this case would be hard to prosecute,” Owens said.

Undercover Grovetown officers bought marijuana from Hightower and Gibson at their Fifth Avenue home on May 16 and 22, Owens said.

“The house has been reported as a known drug house by several citizens,” Owens said.

Ealy’s four counts stem from selling marijuana from his Magnolia Drive home on May 17, 18, 19 and 25.

Hightower and Gibson are being held in the Columbia County Detention Center, each on a $10,100 bond, according to jail records. Ealy is being held without bond.

Anyone with information about Jefferson’s whereabouts should call the Grovetown Department of Public Safety at (706) 863-1212.
