Report power outages during ice storm

Power companies have prepared to restore power outages and repair downed power lines damaged by the ice storm forecast for Augusta area counties.

Georgia Power Co. staged several hundred line crews, tree crews, engineers, evaluators and support staff in the area Tuesday, the company said in a news release. All Georgia Power employees in Augusta were assigned to storm restoration to respond around the clock.

SAFETY TIPS:

Never attempt to move a downed power line.

Don’t use cooking ovens, stoves or outdoor grills for heat.
