The first round of voting in the AMPED: The Augusta Chronicle Music Contest has ended. Here are the 12 semifinalists (in random order):

I Will (I Do) by Craig Hendricks – Simple acoustic love song

Leaving Me Hanging by Celia Gary – Lovelorn acoustic ballad

Let Her Hair Down by County Line – Acoustic country

Gene & Roy by Wade Teston – Nostalgic ode to boyhood heroes

Dancing the Shoreline by Grizzly Harris – Acoustic rock ballad

Delia Jones by Julie Farris – Haunted country folk

Evangeline by Jesup Dolly – Outlaw Americana rock

Best Shot by Results May Vary – Uptempo power pop

Love Didn’t Mean A Thing by Fayth Hope – Celebratory R&B love song

Homegrown by Mama Says – Soulful rock

Semi-final voting will take place Aug. 14-27 online at www.augustachronicle.com/AMPED and six acts – three selected by popular vote and three critic’s picks, will go on to the finals at the Arts In the Heart of Augusta festival on Sept. 15.
